Body of man found in drain in Nilai


SEREMBAN: A man's body was found lying face down in a drain along Jalan Pajam-Nilai-Salak near Taman Semarak, Nilai on Tuesday (Aug 15).

Nilai district police chief Supt Abdul Malik Hasim said preliminary investigations found that the body was that of a 27-year-old man. A motorcycle was also found nearby.

"The Nilai police station received a report at 2.13pm.

"Further checks found that two police reports were lodged on Sunday (Aug 13) – missing persons reports by the wife of the deceased and by his employer, who owns the motorcycle," he said in a statement.

Supt Abdul Malik said no criminal element had been found so far.

The body was taken to the Forensics Unit of Hospital Tuanku Ja'afar for a post-mortem.

The case has been classified under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987.
